No Motivation To Start Exercising? Here's 10 Reasons Why You Should Make Fitness Your New Priority

We all know that there are an immense amount of benefits of exercising - above all, that it's great for our overall health. But knowing isn't always enough to get us motivated into actually doing it. If you're looking for a little inspiration to kickstart your fitness journey then here are 10 reasons to help get you moving.

1) Improve Your Health

We literally cannot emphasise this enough, but there are so many health benefits of exercising and losing weight that it's impossible to list them all here! By getting fit you'll reduce the risk of diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, stroke, heart disease and much, much more.

2) More Energy

It doesn't require 1-2 hours of hard hitting gym workouts to reap the benefits. Studies have shown that regular exercise even as little as 30 minutes a day helps to reduce fatigue. So although exercise in itself may be tiring, one of the major benefits of exercising is the fact that it'll ultimately leave you feeling more energised.

3) Mood Boosting

Every time you exercise your body will release endorphins, the body's 'feel good hormones', that help to make you feel good. This will usually kick in after 30 minutes of moderate intensity exercising one study shows and will lasts for several hours. Exercise really will give you a pep in your step and a natural high!

4) Increase Your Strength and Stamina

Do you find it hard to go on long walks, even though you want to? Maybe even committing some extra hours to an important work project will leave you feeling exhausted? Or is carrying shopping bags up the stairs is a struggle? Exercise more and you'll find you will be able to recover quicker and eventually be able to handle the less taxing activities with ease.

5) Reduce Stress

Exercise can be a huge stress reducer. If you regularly suffer from stress - or even mental heath issues such as depression and anxiety - regular exercise can help to manage and to reduce your overall stress symptoms.

6) Sleep Better

If you have problems getting to sleep at night, when you exercise more you'll start to find it easier to get a good night's rest. This will increase the energy boost that you'll get from exercise in the long term.

7) Improve Self-Image

If being overweight and not being toned leaves you feeling unhappy about yourself then losing weight can help you to look, feel better, increase your self-esteem and raise your confidence level.

8) Family Recreation Time

If you have children then you'll know that it takes a lot of energy to keep up with your kids and create quality family time. By losing weight and getting fit, you'll be able to spend valuable time with them without constantly getting out of breath. This can be one of the most rewarding benefits of exercising: it helps you to enjoy life more.

9) A Sense Of Achievement

When you start to exercise and see the improvements you're making week on week, you'll feel an increase in being proud of yourself and you will bask in the feeling that you're not only doing something amazing for your overall health but also that you've achieved something worthwhile!

10) Holding Back the Years

The more you can exercise now, while you're still able, the more you can reduce the impact of certain health problems later in life. In short, keeping fit and healthy will help you to keep your independence as late into life as possible.

So how much will you need to work out to feel these benefits of exercising? That all depends on your current fitness levels. The good news is that just 30 minutes of the exercise of your choice a day is enough to improve your health drastically. So what are you waiting for? It's time to start moving!
